Discover TA-DAAN’s highlights from the leading fair for all things design, home decor and lifestyle
TA-DAAN goes to Maison&Objet!
We were super excited to be a Media Partner for the leading European fair for Design, Home Decor and Lifestyle. Maison&Objet 2023 took place in Paris at the Parc des Exposition – Villepinte from the 19th-23rd of January.
The fair gathers twice a year, with thousands of exhibitors from all over the world making it the perfect place to spot new releases and upcoming trends related to the world of interior design and home decor.
Although the exhibition is mainly devoted to Design, there was a whole hall dedicated to crafts, where handcrafted savoir-faire and design intertwined. We started off our visit by this very hall, but we had so much fun wandering around all 7 large halls of M&O and discovering so many eye-catching products and intriguing niche crafts!
As we did for Homo Faber 2022, Here you can find some of our highlights and discoveries of the fair👇🏼😎

Bubblegum Vases

These colorful vases truly caught our attention! So much so, that we needed to take a closer look and couldn’t believe our ears when we discovered the material they’re made of.
The artisan and artist Luisa Maisel let us know that these vases are made of thousands of tiny porcelain balls, which are individually rolled, colored and then put together into the desired shape. The “Bubblegum collection” is truly a visual pleasure to the point that we had to stop ourselves from taking a bite out of them!
La Ceba Som Tots

Only by getting closer to this craft piece you begin to understand that it’s not made of ordinary textile scraps, but with onion peels!
Josep took a bunch of onion skins, heat treated them and then sewed them together creating an unconventional bio-textile.
The aim of Josep is to challenge the ideas we have surrounding “waste”, making us question, why can’t rubbish have a second life and elevate its status from discarded to re-valued? Making us see that in the end, it all depends on time & dedication we put into to experimenting with new materials and the techniques we use to transform it!
In the picture shown, a detail shot of the pieces he created and showcased at M&O.

+90 shades of candles

As you approach Ester & Erik’s stand, you’re immediately enticed by the sea of candles and their hues. Each and every one of them is dipped and colored, by hand in more than 90 shades, guaranteeing that just about anyone can find the exact hue they’re looking for to suit their personal design aesthetics!
